Enhancing GMail with Firefox

One thing those of you with lots of folders may notice is that when you're viewing your emails over the web rather than in Outlook, the folders can get a bit disorganized and overcomplicated if you've got several nested folders in a row. Fortunately, Firefox has extensions and tools to correct this as well as further enhance the functionality of GMail over the web.  With the Better Gmail 2 add-on (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6076) anyone that uses Firefox to get to GMail can go from a list overflowing with names to a clean, expandable file structure, just like Outlook:

To install this addon, all you need to do is from inside Firefox, go to this address (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6076) and click "Add to Firefox", then "Install", and restart Firefox.  After the restart, a window with "1 New Addon installed" will appear, and you'll see "Better Gmail 2" listed. Click "Options", then click the "Sidebar" tab. Click "Folders4Gmail" and hit OK. Now, next time you log into your MLC GMail account, you'll have the clean organized folders instead!

As always of course, if you are having any problems getting this installed or have any questions, the helpdesk can be reached at Helpdesk@mlc.edu or you can call us directly at x6270
